The
following is a personal portrait that is based on a professional career of over
30 years. It includes manager/peer reviews, organizational and
psychological testing results, personal introspection, self-evaluation, and
input from friends and family.
I am
self-confident with self-power awareness. I am more often the exception
to the rule than the one who blends in with the general population. This
is partially the result of being a change agent, catalyst, and facilitator of
new concepts and ideas within a company. I look to the possibilities of
the future rather than to the accomplishments of the past. I am
comfortable playing on the edge as well as within the circle. I use
my introspective reality to proactively focus on possibilities while using
external forces to help guide and adjust a company's direction, events, and
objectives rather than wait and react to some immediate direction or external
pressure.
I prefer
to be a participant rather than a spectator or a sideline observer. I
have experience as both a team player and as an independent agent functioning
within all levels of field and staff management. I am comfortable moving
back and forth between both of these working environments.
I bring
strong leadership, general management, interpersonal, communication, strategic
planning, and analytical and problem solving skills to an organization. I
am accustomed to multi-faceted and complex business situations that require
flexibility and a keen sense of "the situation.”
I am a
pragmatist and decisions come naturally to me. I am a builder of ideas,
concepts, and systems. I use thinking in the form of empirical logic,
leveraging the power of events and people so that they can be integrated
through some positive experience base that can be put to constructive outcomes
and solutions.
A natural brainstormer, I am open to new concepts and ideas and
always seek them out. Risk-taking comes easily to me, and I enjoy
pursuing calculated strategies and tactics that have high payoffs through
strategic plans that can be adjusted to meet the needs of changing goals,
objectives, risks, opportunities, and environmental conditions.
My
deductive logic and intellect is coupled with and supported by highly-developed
intuitive reasoning and gestalt-based decision making. I have a keen
sense for the consequences of business applications, new ideas, and strategic
decisions.
My drive
is to completion, always with an eye to long-term consequences and optimal
financial results. Ideas seem to carry their own force with me, and I
subject every idea to the test of usefulness. I see challenges as
stimulating events rather than roadblocks that stall progress.
I enjoy
being part of a situation where ideas, concepts, and theory are translated into
real, achievable actions and results. Planning and organizing come
naturally to me and are supported by a strong implementation dimension that
assures that whatever I plan does not gather dust on the shelf.
I enjoy
the creation, design, development, uncertainty, risks, and opportunities
associated with strategy and the tactical involvement that comes with
successful execution and implementation. This ensures that plans,
decisions, processes, and systems translate into objective results, especially
those that optimize human potential as well as revenue and profit results.
Business growth, employee performance and satisfaction, cost effectiveness,
goals and objectives achievement, profit orientation, and team success are
strong imperatives for me. I am a dedicated and loyal person with high
integrity who is interested in growing people and moving industries, markets,
institutions, businesses, organizations, concepts, products, and services
forward.
I am a
patient negotiator who realizes that time marches on, and I manage toward the
light at the end of the tunnel. I always seek to integrate others’ valued
input to help ensure organizational buy-in and success managing toward
"everyone wins" results. I move forward with any initiative,
process, or decision that not only includes others’ contribution and feedback,
but also includes my own intuition and judgment which has evolved from my
seasoned experience and understanding of people, places, and events.
